The Adventure Ready Academy

Strength & nutrition coaching for those who want a body that can handle whatever life throws at it, and look good doin’ it 🤘

If you’re the active, adventurous, weekend warrior type,
you need a powerful, resilient body.

Problem is, despite all the time and energy you’re putting into exercising,
you’re not seeing the results you want!

👎 Your body isn’t changing or has stopped changing

👎 Your performance, strength, or endurance has plateaued

👎 The unwanted jiggle has started to accumulate

👎 You’re not feeling as energized or bulletproof as you’d like

👎 Sometimes you get burnt out and exhausted

I get it.

You’re ambitious as hell.

You’re already showing up consistently for exercise or activities

You work your ass off, and your inner masochist likes it

You don’t need motivation to get off the couch—unless you overdid it (again) and need to be immobile until you can stand again

You’re champing at the bit to do whatever it takes to get to your goals of being any combination of stronger, fitter, better, leaner…

“So will someone just tell me what the hell to do? I’ll do it!”

You’re ready to make exceptional progress with your body,
but you’re
not willing to:

😭 Live on salads or weird meal plans, cut out carbs, or give up soul-bolstering treats

🥵 Spend all your free time working out, leaving no room for play/life/hobbies

🫠 Spend even more time and energy trying to figure this out on your own—let’s get going already

The Adventure Ready Academy is the most efficient way to an energized, strong body that lasts a lifetime.

Here, you’ll follow one holistic, clear path called
The Resilient Body Roadmap.

You’re done chasing the piecemeal quick fixes.

You’re ready for a complete, holistic solution that gives you:

⚡ Improved strength, endurance, and mobility so you can dominate any adventure and lead the pack.

⚡ Nutrition that boosts your performance and recovery, while also keeping you a sane and happy camper.

⚡ An athletic body composition (more muscle, less fat).

⚡ All-day, steady energy so you can enjoy your life outside of training.

⚡ Lifelong sustainability so you can use your eventually-old, yet resilient body to whip all the youngsters and steal their glory.

Life’s too short to sit this one out.

Meet Your Coach

Hey there! I'm Coach Mac.

I spent years (years, reader!) running, doing every cardio machine religiously, HIIT workouts, random weight workouts, “eating clean,” cutting sugar, intermittent fasting…and STILL my body did not change.

I was putting in dozens of hours of effort per week but things more or less stayed the same. This was an unacceptable ROI.

I wanted to build some muscle, be decently lean, and feel like I was 100% prepared for any adventure that came my way. Even if that “adventure” was just helping my friend move their stupid couch for the 12th time.

But I also knew that counting calories made me insane, and being told not to eat something only made me want it MORE. And it seemed that every program that offered to help me build muscle, get fit, and be generally awesome said:

“Eat this amount of calories every day. Cut out your favorite foods and live on salads. And do this super intense workout that involves jumping(???) 5-6 days per week. Forever. If you hate your life you’re doing it right.”

SURELY there was a way to eat well, feel strong, be fit enough to do stuff that wasn’t the Olympics, and do it without sacrificing literally all my time and energy, and god forbid maybe even have some fun doing it…right?

Reader, I was right.

After many years of trial and error, countless health, exercise, and science courses, and thousands of dollars later—I created The Adventure Ready Academy, where the name of the game is helping rad humans become the fittest, strongest versions of themselves, all while having time and energy to go play and enjoy their lives.

Because at the end of the day, isn’t that the point of it all?

If the beginning of this story kind of sounds like your story, I hope you’ll consider jumping off that Hamster Wheel of Insanity™ and joining the Academy.

-Michelle

“I don’t feel confused or overwhelmed about how to eat for my goals anymore. I also know exactly how to get stronger and how to keep getting stronger on my own!”

-Jordan

“Brass Tacks is literally the best investment I’ve made in the last year already. Mind blown.”

-Annette

Which Ambition Level Are You?

Level 1

The Dabbler (not Academy ready yet)

Struggles to start or remain consistent with intentional movement, no experience with eating for health and performance; often wants to outsource efforts.

Fitness/nutrition is not the first priority.

GOALS: Weight loss. Learning how to show up for some kind of intentional movement every day. Improving diet that’s high in processed food, takeout, and/or alcohol/substances.

NEEDS: Lots of in-person accountability, someone to work out with them/guide them through workouts, practice with basic health habits like cooking, and developing momentum with showing up consistently.

Level 2

The Enthusiast (Academy ready!)

Consistently(ish) showing up for some kind of intentional movement, activity, or exercise; familiar with basic nutrition concepts, but might not be executing them consistently or correctly for goals. Not seeing physical or performance progress despite solid efforts. Adventures and activities are harder to recover from or take a large toll on the body.

Fitness/nutrition is a big priority.

GOALS: Be fitter, stronger, leaner, and better at the activities they do long-term. Look and feel above average. Perform their best and be challenged. Eager to learn how to be better, not just go through the motions. Athletic body composition of more muscle, less fat.

NEEDS: A complete, holistic, and optimized plan that’s sustainable and enjoyable. Programming for strength, endurance, and performance. Individualized recovery plan with tailored nutrition planning for specific goals.

The Adventure Ready Academy is perfect for Level 2: Enthusiasts!

Level 3

The Pro (not suited for the Academy)

Physique competitors and professional athletes; people who get paid to look a certain way or be at peak performance.

Fitness/nutrition is the number one priority and everything else comes second.

GOALS: Peak physical condition or performance for a brief duration. Extreme rather than holistic.

NEEDS: A robust support system of coaches, bodyworkers, helpers, and nutritionists, an extremely rigid meal plan, and a grueling training schedule.

Making visible, sustainable progress

How to put energy into the right things, and then keep doing that…well…forever.

First, you need a structure and routine that actually works.

Some people are very good at moving their bodies around a lot—they’re active or exercise regularly.

While this is very healthy, simply moving around does not guarantee progress toward a specific goal.

To get results, you need a training program that systematically moves you toward your goals and nutrition that supports those goals.

Without BOTH, progress stalls.

Second, this structure needs to be sustainable for the person doing it.

Going hard for 3 months and then reverting back to old habits will not build a body that is strong and fit for a lifetime.

Most people overestimate what they can do in 3 months and underestimate what they can accomplish in a year.

You’ll need to learn how to pivot your healthy habits under times of stress instead of quitting and having to start over.

The Resilient Body Roadmap gives you the structure you need to make real progress while allowing the flexibility needed to stay consistent for the long haul.

It has everything you need and nothing you don’t—because the path to a resilient body needs to be clear, simple, and effective.

Deep Dives from Clients:

Common Questions

  • The consistently active person who feels stuck at their current fitness level or body composition and wants to make noticeable progress that will last a lifetime.

All ages and genders are welcome, but generally speaking, people in their 30’s and 40’s is the average.

Everyone has injuries, aches, and pains, but as a general rule, you need to be reasonably able-bodied in order to utilize this program.

You have to be willing to lift weights. If you don’t know how, you will be taught. If you already know how, you’ll be taught how to do it better.

People who bring optimism, playfulness, and a stellar sense of humor will find like-minded people here!

  • You have access to the coaching, community, trainings, and everything else in the Academy for 12 whole months. But how long it takes you to start incorporating and seeing results from the steps in the Resilient Body Roadmap is up to you!

People often start noticing improvements in their health, strength, and body composition after only a few weeks, but the real transformation in strength, stamina, and physique is seen over many months—good thing you’ll have a year of support!

  • Constantly! You can ask your coach questions anytime in the community Clubhouse, you’ll have a 1-on-1 live assessment, and of course you’ll have the coaching calls, which are kept small and intimate, and will rotate times seasonally.

  • Nope! You don’t even need access to a gym if you prefer to work out at home!

Your coach and the how-to videos will show you what to do, and you can always ask her for extra help. If you want to work out at home, you’ll only need minimal equipment that can easily be tucked away.

  • The goal is to keep all training and nutrition habits fast and simple so you can spend your time as you see fit.

While there’s always a little up-front work when learning something new, every single workout and nutrition habit can be scaled or changed according to what YOU need any given day—after all, being able to pivot your habits is how you make real, jaw-dropping progress!

Plus, don’t forget that the learning portion of this program is completely self-paced. You’ve got 12 months, so relax into the journey.

  • If you’re looking to see that scale number go down as fast as possible and at any cost, this is not the program for you.

Trainees in this program absolutely experience positive body composition changes (more muscle, less fat), and they also have the option to focus on body comp in Physique Mode once they’ve mastered the essentials.

But overall, this program is focused on making you feel powerful and confident in your body, and at ease with the healthy habits that will sustain you for life.

  • Smash that Apply Now button and fill out an application that maps out your goals. If coach thinks you’re a good fit, you’ll be sent an enrollment link to sign up, or you can talk to coach directly if you want!

  • Those just trying to lose scale weight as fast as possible and are not interested in getting stronger or learning the skills and habits needed for sustainable body composition and performance. While every client thus far has lost fat and gained muscle to varying degrees, it’s not the main goal.

Vegans or strictly plant-based dieters. Brass Tacks utilizes the nutrient density of our ancestors, which includes animal products like meat, fish, eggs, and dairy (if tolerated). Lacto-ovo vegetarians, pescatarians, and recovering vegans are welcome!
